Eco Chic Weddings x An Inconvenient Truth

The first time I told someone about writing a book, it was 2005. I had just spent the last two years working in the wedding industry as marketing director for Martha Stewart Living. Before then, I was in the fashion industry. I had felt for a long time that women (and men) deserved to have a better experience as they planned their weddings.

After researching and meeting with 100's of consumers and professionals in the bridal industry, I met with my publisher who decided to buy my book idea. My mission was to bring elevated style to the eco and ethical options available to the wedding consumer. I believed that if people had better options then they would make better choices.

Finally, I finished the book. People I knew in the wedding industry would say "brides are the most selfish consumers, they won't care about making eco and ethical decisions." The book launched in January 2017--a few months before the Academy Awards, where Al Gore's movie, An Inconvenient Truth, became the first documentary in history to receive an Oscar for best picture.
